Uh...good novel or bad novel? I mean, I can call you 'preppy' if that's better.
[She's asking sincerely, since she doesn't set out to tease her friends or call them names.]
And yeah, there's a difference, but it'd be dumb to hash out a buncha details that aren't really needed.
