[Her eyes flit nervously around the room until something catches her interest. It seems to spark some inspiration in her, and slowly she begins to carve carefully away at the wood. It's...
Not at all expert. A simple way of cutting and she's making the features like a child would on a drawing. But it's the best she can do for now. The figure starts to gain short hair and a simplified smile. An apron cut onto the body, and a pair of gloves. Like the picture of her mother she has sitting up on the television stand in front of them.]
[ Rex watches, though not intently. Just keeping an eye on her hands, in case she's ever in danger of slipping. ]
Absolutely.
[ He looks over the simple doll and being Rex, he almost immediately makes the connection- he memorised everything in the room while making a note of anything he could use as a weapon if he needed to.
Good choice, he thinks. A mother, or perhaps an elder sister... what could there be better to protect someone? Confidence in the person she is modelling her figure on may increase its power. ]
It doesn't need to be much- just enough you can say it's your creation.
[ He stares for a few seconds, but his expectant stare isn't much different to his usual stare so- ]
Oh, I meant that literally. Please say 'this is my creation.'
[ He actually hasn't done this before, but he holds one hand up to his eye and forms a loop with the fingers to look through. Energies looking pretty synchronised to him. ]
Now, simply select where you would like to place it. On display or hidden makes no difference, but it does need to be somewhere it will rarely, if ever, be moved. As you put it there, focus on the thought that it is yours and it will protect you.
[ And that's it. That and all the damn enchantments he put on that wood but it's fine. He doesn't mind. ]
[Uncertainty is clear on her face, but she complies. Her hand gripping the wooden figure tightly as she stands to leave the living room to put it in her bedroom. She chooses a spot in the drawer of her nightstand. Setting it down on its side to fit. Chidori does as Rex says, but is a little doubtful it will work. After closing up the drawer she returns to him on the couch.]

-Ah, um. This is my creation!
[She hopes that's sufficient.]

I hope I did that right.
